Warning! Announcement about disks from A P H!

Greetings all,
Please read this blog post immediatly!
Let me start by saying, if you picked up a demo disk from
The American Printing House for the Blind
at any of the summer shows, such as the A C B convention, discard it immediatly!
Tyler, why are you telling us to discard it?
Well, it has been reported on the
A P H web site
that they have found a virus on this disk.
Your computer will not be infected by this virus immediatly, however, if you attempt to install the demo of verbal view of windows xp, your virus scanning software will give you a warning.
Whatever you do, do not hit accept.
Here are some details about the virus, taken from the a p h website.
Virus name: Win32/Prolaco.
Other virus details.
only way to infect your system is to click
the demo software link on the Demo Disc startup screen, and then click the link to
install the demo of Verbal View of Windows XP. The only file on the disc affected
by the virus is the Verbal View of Windows XP demo.
If you attempt to install the Verbal View of Windows XP demo, and you have up-to-date
virus software installed, you should be warned about the presence of the virus immediately.
Please Take the Following Steps
1. Discard the APH Demo Disc 2010.
2. Completely scan your system with up-to-date virus detection software.
One antivirus program that detects Win32/Prolaco with a general scan is Microsoft
Security Essentials. This antivirus software is both free and accessible.
Folks, discard those disks, and be sure to get new ones!
